Obituary for Betty Jo Louise Wood (Davis)

Betty Jo Louise Davis Wood, 79, of Hedgesville, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at her residence.

Born March 22, 1939, in Fitzgerald, GA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas William Davis, and Myrtle Lee Virginia Miller Davis.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, she was a very giving and a devoted person, she had a sweet tooth and preferred her candy over dinner and most of all she loved her fur babies, Chewy and Chipper.

Betty owned her own cleaning business for 28 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra Hess and husband, Ricky, Lisa Ausherman and husband Rodger; one son, Coy Wood, II; two granddaughters, Chrystal Barcomb and Ashley Watts and her husband, Lee; two grandsons, Rodger Ausherman, II and wife Lakyn and Isaac Ausherman and wife Sierra; three great granddaughters, Gabrielle Barcomb, Grace Watts, and Alexandra Hall; and two great grandsons, Jacob Barcomb and Johnathon Hall.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, James “ED” Davis, Forrest “Gene” Davis and Vernon Davis, one sister Helen Spanks, and a granddaughter, Angeline Hall.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church from 9:00 to 10:00 one hour prior to service.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Church with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Interment will be held in Maranatha Memorial Gardens.
