Obituary for Ruth Jean Keefauver (Rose)
Ruth Jean (Rose) Keefauver, 94, of Martinsburg, died on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Williamsport Retirement Village under the care of Hospice of Washington County.
Ruth was born March 10, 1927 in Bedford, PA to Percy Rose and Rose (Wambaugh) Rose. She graduated from Bedford High School in 1945 and was also a graduate of Pierce Business School of Philadelphia, PA. Ruth retired from the IRS Martinsburg Computing Center in 1994.
She is survived by her son, Kevin L. Keefauver and wife, Karen of Middletown, VA.; her daughter, Janice Keefauver and husband, Charles “Lynn” Sencindiver of Martinsburg; grandchildren, Jared Kesner, Brenda Kelly, Jacob, Drew, and Kris Keefauver; and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Sharon Mary “Kelly” Keefauver and Deborah Jean Kelly.
Ruth was a generous soul, always doing things for other people. Many of us will cherish the handmade gifts we were given. She was very talented and could sew, quilt, knit, crochet, cross stitch, macrame’, applique, and do needlepoint.
We thank the staff of Hospice of Washington County and Williamsport Retirement Village, especially the staff at Twin Oaks Assisted Living where she was a resident for nine years.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Praveen Mallela celebrant.
Interment prayers will be said at Rosedale Cemetery.
