Obituary for Michael O. Pezzanite

Michael O. Pezzanite, 68, of Martinsburg, WV departed this life to be with the Lord October 5, 2021 under the care of Hospice at the VAMC.

Born on September 21, 1953 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late John N. Pezzanite and Kathleen E. Pezzanite.

Michael graduated from Keyser High School 1974, WV Officer Candidate School 1982 and Shepherd Universary 1983. His military service included the 317th Engineer Combat Battalion in Germany, the 157th WV National Guard, Maryland Army Nation Guard 121st Engineer Combat Battalion Company C in Oakland Md and Company B in Cumberland Md where he served as Commanding Officer; Special Projects Officer at the Pentagon and the 463rd Engineer Combat Battalion in Wheeling WV. He also retired from General Motors, Martinsburg WV.

He is survived by his children with former wife, Karen Pezzanite Martinsburg, WV; daughter, Amy James and husband, Daniel James of Harpers Ferry, WV; and his sons, Justin Pezzanite and wife Leslie Pezzanite Martinsburg WV; Matthew Pezzanite and wife Summer Pezzanite Martinsburg WV; Bryan Pezzanite and wife Jessica Hutton Gerrardstown WV; twelve grandchildren; his brother, John O. Pezzanite of Chicago, Illinois, and sisters Kathleen McCaffrey of Dillsburg, PA, Maureen Draper of Somerset, PA, Aileen Biser of Bridgeport, WV, Colleen Boyle of French Creek WV and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends Bernard Wolfe and Cheryl Baker.

Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm, Tuesday, Oct 12, 2021 at St Agnes Catholic Church Shepherdstown, WV with the Rev. T. Matthew Rowgh officiating.

Viewing will be held 1 hour prior to service at the church.

Interment will be at St Thomas Cemetery, Keyser WV; date to be determined.
