Obituary for Wayne Lee Hess, Sr.
Wayne Lee Hess, Sr., 75, of Martinsburg passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at home.
Born October 12, 1945 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Lester Leroy Hess and Doris Lee Creamer Hess. Wayne was of the Christian faith and a former member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Arden.
Wayne is survived by two sons, Steven Wayne Hess and Wayne Lee Hess, Jr.; two daughters, Lisa Gail Collins and Deborah Kay Bohanan; grandchildren Jonica Catron, Calvin “Skooter” Cooley, Hunter Hess and Tyler Hess; great-grandchildren, Kamari McLendon and Chloe Sefcovic; four sisters, Sandra Wood, Shirley Scott, Mary Lynn Shade and Anita Hess; two brothers, Charles Hess and Chester Hess; his Aunt Edna Butts; a number of cousins, nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Linda Timbrook.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by brother, Gene David Hess, wife, Caroline Butts Hess, daughter, Heather Dawn Hess, grandson, Michael Paul McLendon and two granddaughters, Stevie Lynn Hess and Contessa Catron.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Timothy Howard officiating.
Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Needmore.
