Obituary for Juanita Faye Gregory (Plotner)

Juanita “Faye” Plotner Gregory, 72, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away on Sunday, July 25th, 2021 at her home after a long courageous battle of cancer.

Born June 16th, 1949, in Martinsburg, WV. She was the daughter of the late Orville L. Plotner and Rebecca “Becky” Plotner.

She was a graduate of Hedgesville High School and was retired from Berkeley County Public Schools. She was a cook at various area schools for 23 years where she made many friends to last a lifetime.

Faye is survived by her 3 children whom she loved dearly & provided care for her during her illness. Her son, Gaven Gregory & Aireen Guzick & Alexander; two daughters, Rebecca Gregory & Joey Arns; Kenda Church & Mark Masters; four grandchildren Kia Goforth (Nick), Kameron Gregory (Katie), Josie Arns and Nickolas Masters; one great-grandson Rhett Goforth. Her sister Lyndell & Bill Long, brother Terry & Bonnie Plotner, several nieces and nephews. And a special and dear friend whom provided continuous care for her, Melvin Cole.

Faye was a member of Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church for 45+ years. She loved her church family immensely. She was a true testament of faith and a prayer warrior. Over the years, Faye was involved with the deaf ministry, soul winning & the nursery. She enjoyed special times and events at the church with her dear friends Joan Cain and Phyllis Kesecker.

Faye loved spending time with family and friends especially the grandchildren. She was their biggest cheerleader never missing any sporting events, birthdays, or special occasions with them. Faye had a kind heart and was loved by many.

We are greatly thankful to the Hospice staff for providing care and comfort for our mother. Also, dear neighbors Charles & Waunita Hatmaker and Jeanie Wright who provided a lot of love and support and meals to her family while caring for her.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 28th 2021, at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg 5pm-7pm.

Funeral services will be at 11am Thursday, July 29th 2021, at Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church in Martinsburg, WV.

Viewing at the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be at Maranatha Memorial Gardens on the grounds of Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church.
