Obituary for George Moler "Butch" Murphy Jr.
George “Butch” Moler Murphy Jr., 72, of Martinsburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the Berkeley Medical Center.
Born April 26, 1948 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late George M. Murphy Sr. and Ardella (Hite) Murphy.
George served in the U.S Army. He was also a member of the American Legion and VFW in Martinsburg.
He is survived by one son, Vance Murphy and wife, Tammy; three grandchildren, Brian Stratton, Jessica Moody, and Brittany Everhart; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Doug Murphy and Dale Dugan; one sister, Diane Braithwaite and husband, Robert; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda May Miller Murphy; one great grandchild; and one brother, Gary Murphy.
The Brown Funeral Home will be open for family to receive friends, only from the hours of 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Sunday, June 28, 2020.
Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Bunker Hill Cemetery.
