Obituary for Charles Bernard Sisson Sr.
Charles Bernard Sisson, Sr., 81, of Martinsburg, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Davis Medical Center.
Born January 7, 1939, he was the son of the late Harold Sisson and Estelle (Clegg) Sisson.
Charles served in the U.S Army. He retired from being a Firefighter after 20 years with Bethesda/Chevy Chase Fire Company, he then retired from the VA Medical Center after 20 years. He was also an avid golfer, and a member of the Martinsburg Elks Lodge # 778.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jane (Johnson) Sisson; grandson, Robert Sisson and wife, Amanda; granddaughter, Mandy Sisson and Fiance, Kenny Hudson; two brothers, Robert Sisson and wife, Mary, and Norris Lee Sisson and wife, Charlene; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Charles B. Sisson, Jr.; two brothers, Johnny, and Sammy Sisson; and one sister, Marie Glascock.
The Brown Funeral Home will be open for family to receive friends only from the hours of 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, June 28, 2020.
Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
